Program Details
This program prepares students for careers that involve advocating for and implementing policy solutions across various sectors. Students will learn to develop effective strategies for policy entrepreneurship, engage stakeholders through public discourse, and utilize political advocacy to drive change. The curriculum offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical tools needed to be a successful policy advocate.

Standard Admission: Students with a 3.0 GPA or higher from their bachelor’s program.

Conditional Admission: Students with lower GPAs may be considered for conditional admission upon approval by the program director.

PUAD 5004 – Economics and Public Finance (3 Credits)
Examine the role of government in providing and financing public goods through topics like welfare economics, expenditure theory, taxation, fiscal federalism, and budgeting. Students will explore analytical tools that support sound fiscal decision-making in the public sector. -
PUAD 5005 – The Policy Process and Democracy (3 Credits)
This course provides an in-depth look at the policy-making process, covering how issues are framed, policies are crafted, and enacted policies are monitored and evaluated. Students will gain an understanding of the democratic principles that shape policy design and implementation. -
PUAD 5320 – Public Policy Analysis (3 Credits)
